You can ask us to delete your Praxis account and the data in it at any time. This page explains how, what is deleted and how long it takes. It applies to the Praxis web app at app.praxisdgs.com and to the Praxis app for Android.
1. How to ask
From the app: open Settings, choose About, then Delete your account. This opens an email to us, already addressed.
Without the app: email hello@praxisdgs.com with the subject "Delete my Praxis account".
Please write from the email address you use to sign in to Praxis, so that we can confirm the account is yours. We may reply to that address to confirm the request before acting on it. There is no charge.
2. Before you ask: keep a copy
Deletion cannot be undone. Download your data first: in the app, open Settings, choose Your data, then Export my data (CSV). The files open in Excel.
3. What is deleted
- Your account: your sign-in email, display name and password record.
- Your practice data: clients, matters (including those in Trash), hearings and key dates, notes, checklists, fee entries, tasks, leads, properties, tenants and leases.
- Your settings: firm name, matter-number prefixes and team-member names.
4. How long it takes
We delete your account and practice data from the live database within 30 days of confirming your request.
5. What may remain for a short time
Our database provider keeps backups for disaster recovery. These expire on a rolling basis, so copies of deleted data may remain in those backups for a limited period before they are overwritten in the ordinary course. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups. Emails you have exchanged with us are kept as ordinary business correspondence.
6. Deleting some data without closing your account
You do not need to close your account to remove records. In the app, deleting a matter moves it to Trash, and from Settings, Recently deleted you can delete it permanently. You can ask us to delete any other specific data by email at the address above.
7. Your clients' information
If you are a client of a lawyer who uses Praxis, your lawyer is responsible for your information. Please ask your lawyer to correct or delete it. See the Client data note.
